Hong Kong, 28 November, 2013 – Indulge magazine will add another dimension of discovery and surprise to a Star Cruises holiday, perfecting the entertaining, memorable, and informational experience. The onboard quarterly publication will be available across the Asian fleet of Star Cruises, the leading cruise line of Asia-Pacific, and Resorts World Manila.

Genting Hong Kong Sponsers Youth Outreach Crisis Centre For Boys Renovations

Hong Kong, 27 November, 2013 – Genting Hong Kong has made a HKD300,000 donation to Youth Outreach to sponsor the renovation project for its Crisis Centre for Boys.
To celebrate the completion of the project and to thank the generosity of Genting Hong Kong, Youth Outreach hosted a reopening ceremony yesterday (26 November) at Youth Outreach Jockey Club Building in Sai Wan Ho. The reopening was officiated by Mr Blondel So, Chief Operating Officer, Genting Hong Kong, Ms Vivian Sim, Senior Vice President, Corporate Communications & PR, Genting Hong Kong, Mr Andrew Chan, Publicity Committee Member, Youth Outreach and Ms Florence Lin, Assistant Executive Director, Crisis Services, Youth Outreach. Youngsters currently residing at the centre were invited to the event to share their life stories and learning experience with the guests.
Mr Blondel So, Chief Operating Officer, Genting Hong Kong, said, “The Year 2013 is a special year for us. It coincides with our 20th anniversary. We’re honoured to be able to sponsor Outreach to refurbish its Crisis Centre for Boys. Youth Outreach was founded in 1991 to provide crisis intervention services to marginal adolescents inHong Kong, including an all-night outreaching service with emergency accommodation and counseling to teenagers who have either run away from home or are in danger of doing so. It has been 10 years since the Crisis Centre for Boys relocated from Shatin to Sai Wan Ho, and more than 3,000 cases have been served. Due to the high frequency of use, many facilities suffered tear and wear, such as peeled and cracked paint, moldy flooring as well as poor plumbing. Youth Outreach is thankful for the generous donation made by Genting Hong Kong, so it can serve as a more comfortable temporary home to street wandering boys.
 As a Caring Company, Genting Hong Kong continues to give back to society through cooperating with different charitable organizations globally.

Star Cruises is the first cruise line to pick Sanya, China as its main port.


SuperStar Gemini consisting of 765 cabins has regular journeys from Sanya to Halong Bay and Danang City. 
According to Star Cruises in a statement, the policy is applicable for passengers traveling on board SuperStar Gemini on a four-day journey to Halong or Danang and a three-day journey to Halong. This new policy is expected to boost the number of tourists on this route.
Star Cruises is the first cruise line to pick Sanya as its main port. Last year, the line was allowed by the Chinese and Vietnamese governments to offer the same policy to passengers of SuperStar Aquarius with journeys from Sanya to Halong and Danang.
From last month to March, SuperStar Gemini is being used for these journeys.
According to Saigontourist Travel Service Company, the firm which serves ships of Star Cruises, there will be 58 journeys of SuperStar Gemini bringing Chinese tourists to Vietnam in the period between October 28 and March.
Besides, the main port of SuperStar Virgo, Star Cruises’ biggest ship of the Asian fleet, will be changed from Singapore to Hong Kong from April to October, 2014 to take tourists to Taiwan, Hainan and Halong Bay. The SuperStar Virgo has 13 decks and 935 cabins.

Star Cruises to bring more tourists to Vietnam


SuperStar Virgo’s main port will be changed from Singapore to Hong Kong in six months between April and October, 2014 to take tourists to Taiwan, China’s Hainan and Vietnam’s Halong Bay. This 75,000-ton-plus cruise ship has 13 decks and 935 cabins.
Star Cruises is promoting the ship’s journeys such as the four-day journey from Hong Kong to Taiwan and the one departing from Sanya (Hainan) for Halong Bay in the period between April 7 and October 26, 2014.
According to the cruise line, the cruise tourism demand in Asia is growing and the main port’s shift from Singapore to Hong Kong is part of the strategy of developing destinations like Hong Kong, China, South Korea and Japan.
According to some travel firms catering to cruise tourists, cruise tourism grows well in the travel season from October, 2013 to April, 2014.
Phan Xuan Anh, chairman of Viet Excursions, said that the number of cruise tourists from last month to early next year would be equivalent to last year’s same period. The firm regularly welcomes ships from the U.S., Australia and the UK.
Saigontourist Travel Service Company also sees a strong increase in the number of cruise tourists. In addition to Asian ships routinely arriving in Halong Bay and Danang, the firm also welcomes two ships from the U.S.
According to Quang Ninh Province’s Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, there will be over 200 international cruise ships from October, 2013 to April, 2014, up 18% year-on-year.

Star Cruises offers two regular cruise itineraries to Sanya

Tourists and local residents in Sanya will be provided with more cruise tour options as Star Cruises, the leading cruise line in Asian-Pacific has included SuperStar Gemini and SuperStar Virgo to its regular itineraries to Sanya.
SuperStar Gemini starts her seasonal deployment from Sanya to Halong Bay and Danang in Vietnam in November, 2013.

During the winter seasonal deployment from November 1, 2013 to March 30, 2014, the cruise route using Sanya as homeport to Vietnam will be operated by the cruise ship SuperStar Gemini to appeal to passengers of all interests. A total of 130 voyages will set off on each Wednesday, Friday and Sunday to Vietnam’s Halong Bay and Danang.

SuperStar Virgo, the largest ship of Asian fleet operated by Star Cruise, will offer Hong Kong-base itineraries to Sanya and Halong Bay from April to October 2014.

SuperStar Aquarius makes maiden voyage to Bintulu calling every tuesday from November to March

Hong Kong/ Bintulu, 12 November, 2013 – SuperStar Aquarius celebrated her first call to Sarawak’s Bintulu today after her successful maiden call to Brunei’s Muara yesterday (11 November). Her homeport relocation to Kota Kinabalu also makes Star Cruises the first international cruise line to home port a ship in the capital of the state of Sabah.  
Nearly 800 international passengers from Malaysia, China, Taiwan and Southeast Asia onboard the 51,309-tonne SuperStar Aquarius received souvenirs and a warm welcome in a ceremony featuring local performances.

SuperStar Virgo unveils Northeast Asian sailings

Star Cruises has revealed that its SuperStar Virgo cruise liner will sail a series of voyages from Hong Kong to China, Taiwan and Vietnam next year.

The 1,870-passenger ship will homeport in Hong Kong from April to October 2014, offering a series of itineraries to Taipei, Taichung and Kaohsiung in Taiwan, the Chinese resort town of Sanya, and Halong Bay in Vietnam.
William Ng, chief operating officer of Star Cruises, said the deployment was part of the company’s strategy to target high-growth Northeast Asian markets.
“In view of the growing demand for cruise travel in Asia, we’re pleased to bring our flagship SuperStar Virgo to Hong Kong. The ship will sail to destinations popular amongst travellers in the region and serve them with our renowned Asian-style hospitality,” said Ng.
From 7 April to 26 October 2014, the SuperStar Virgo will sail a series of three-night cruises to Kaohsiung and Taichung, six-night voyages to Taipei, Kaohsiung and Taichung, and three-night sailings to Sanya and Halong Bay. There will also be a range of one-night sea cruises.
SuperStar Virgo is currently homeported in Singapore and will embark on a five-night relocation cruise to Hong Kong in early April 2014, calling at Ho Chi Minh City and Nha Trang. After completing the six-month Hong Kong deployment, the vessel will return to Singapore on 28 October 2014.

Star Announces 2014 SuperStar Virgo Deployment

Star Cruises will homeport SuperStar Virgo, the largest ship of its Asian fleet, in Hong Kong from April to October 2014.
The 75,338-ton vessel will embark on a six-month seasonal deployment, offering itineraries to Keelung (Taipei), Taichung and Kaohsiung in Taiwan, Sanya in Hainan and Halong Bay in Vietnam.

The relocation of SuperStar Virgo, with 13 decks and 935 cabins, is a part of Star Cruises’ on-going strategy for Hong Kong, China, Taiwan, as well as Korea and Japan markets. From 7 April to 26 October, 2014, customers can cruise on SuperStar Virgo with any of the three exciting Hong Kong-based weekly itineraries tailor-made for them - the 4D3N cruise to Kaohsiung and Taichung, the 4D3N cruise to Sanya and Halong Bay, and the 1-night high seas cruise. Customers wishing to extend the trip and prolong the fun can go on a monthly 7D6N cruise to Keelung (Taipei), Kaohsiung, and Taichung.

SuperStar Virgo is currently homeported in Singapore, offering itineraries to Penang, Phuket, Malacca and Port Klang. On 2 April, 2014, SuperStar Virgo will embark on her 6D5N relocation cruise from Singapore and call at Ho Chi Minh City and Nha Trang in Vietnam en route to Hong Kong. After completing her six-month Hong Kong deployment, on 28 October, 2014, she will set sail from Hong Kong for Sanya and Ho Chi Minh City before returning to Singapore.

Hong Kong/ Muara, 11 November, 2013 - SuperStar Aquarius arrived in Muara Port for the first time today following her successful homeport relocation to Kota Kinabalu, the city capital of Sabah, Malaysia last week.
The 51,309-tonne SuperStar Aquarius carrying about 800 international passengers from Malaysia, China, Taiwan and Southeast Asia was welcomed in a ceremony hosted by Brunei Tourism. Amid mesmerizing traditional cultural performances “Jipin Lela Sembah”, “Kayum Oh Ya Kayum”, “Rumpun Budaya” and “Joget Seri Kenangan”, all cruise passengers were presented with local souvenirs courtesy of Brunei Tourism.

SuperStar Aquarius celebrates its new homeport at Kota Kinabalu

HONG KONG / KOTA KINABALU - After months of anticipation, SuperStar Aquarius today celebrated arriving at her new homeport Kota Kinabalu, the city capital of Sabah, Malaysia for her seasonal deployment from 6 November, 2013 to 30 March, 2014.

An official ceremony featuring local cultural performances was staged by the Sabah Tourism Board at the terminal. Government officials, port authority representatives and locals welcomed the ship carrying over 1,100 international passengers from Taiwan, Hong Kong, Australia, China, the Philippines and Southeast Asia on an 8D7N relocation cruise to Kota Kinabalu and showered our passengers with local souvenirs.

Mr. William Ng, Chief Operating Officer, Star Cruises, said, "Today is a milestone moment for Star Cruises as we become the first international cruise line to homeport a ship in Kota Kinabalu."

SuperStar Aquarius makes maiden call at Boracay

Hong Kong/ Boracay, 5 November, 2013 – SuperStar Aquarius made her inaugural call at Boracay for the first time yesterday (4 November), en route to its new homeport in Kota Kinabalu, the city capital of Sabah, Malaysia.
The 51,309-tonne cruise liner brought more than 1,100 Taiwanese,Hong Kong,Australiaand Southeast Asian passengers fromKaohsiung,Taiwanto Boracay after her successful first call toManilalast Saturday (2 November).
The ship and passengers received a warm welcome from the Provincial Government of Aklan,MunicipalityofMalay, Philippine Department of Tourism and the media amid a traditional Boracay Ati-atihan performance put on by locals in vibrant costumes.
Captain Carl J. Nilermark of SuperStar Aquarius praised the island’s unique coastline of unmatched beauty. “As one of the world’s most beautiful islands, Boracay offers a kaleidoscopic selection of leisure activities and top tourist destinations such asMountLuhoand Crystal Cove. I am sure our passengers will fall in love with this tropical paradise.”
He also thanked the Provincial Government of Aklan, the MunicipalityofMalay, the Philippine Ports Authority and the Department of Tourism Regional Office, and every party involved for making the call successful. 
The welcome ceremony was graced by Ms. Gabrielle Calizo-Quimpo, Vice Governor of Provincial Government of Aklan, Honorable Jupiter Gallenero, Sangunian Bayan Member,MunicipalityofMalay, Mr. Erdie Cocoy, Terminal Manager, Philippine Ports Authority TMO Dumaguit and Atty. Helen Catalbas, Regional Director (Region VI) of Department of Tourism of thePhilippines. After the memento exchange ceremony, the guests enjoyed a special lunch featuring Star Cruises’ renowned international and Asian cuisines. They also went on a tour around the vessel.
SuperStar Aquarius embarked on her first homeport deployment in Kota Kinabalu on 6 November, offering itineraries to Muara and Bintulu.

Superstar Gemini sets sail on maiden voyage from Haikou to Vietnam





On the afternoon of October 27th, nearly 1,000 passengers boarded the luxury cruise ship Superstar Gemini to begin a 3 Day/2 night tour to Vietnam’s Halong Bay. Early this year, the Superstar Gemini underwent a US$ 50 million multi-faceted major refurbishment. The cruise ship offered two itineraries, a Haikou-Halong Bay-Haikou route on 27 October and a Haikou-Hong Kong-Sanya route on 29 October to appeal to all kinds of passengers. After its Haikou deployment, the luxury cruise ship will return to Sanya on November 1st to continue its homeport deployment, from where it will operate...

SuperStar Aquarius makes inaugural call to Manila

MANILA & HONG KONG – SuperStar Aquarius called at Manila, the Philippines for the first time on Saturday (2 November). The 51,309-tonne luxury liner received a warm welcome from government officials and locals at Pier 4 of Manila North Harbor. The ship is en route to her new home-port in Kota Kinabalu, the city capital of Sabah, Malaysia.
The Department of Tourism of the Philippines (DOT) welcomed them with traditional dance and music performances and showering them with local souvenirs. It was the second maiden call of a Star Cruises ship to the city in a month.
“We’re excited to be back here again, this time bringing SuperStar Aquarius to Manila for the very first time from Kaohsiung, Taiwan. We’re especially happy to have 1,200 international passengers, from Taiwan, Hong Kong, Australia, China and Southeast Asia, on this 8D7N special cruise. During their overnight stay in Manila, passengers have visited Resorts World Manila, our world-class, one stop, non-stop entertainment and leisure hub and explored top tourist destinations in this city to experience the hospitality that Filipinos are well known for,” said Michael Hackman, senior vice-president and country head, Philippines, Star Cruises.
Following her two-day stay in Manila, SuperStar Aquarius will make her first visit today to Boracay, one of the world’s most beautiful islands. She will begin her inaugural homeport deployment in Kota Kinabalu on Wednesday (6 November).
Resorts World Manila, a joint venture between Genting Hong Kong and Alliance Global, Inc., has been working closely with the DOT in promoting the Philippines regionally and internationally. To celebrate this occasion, the 20 contestants for Miss Resorts World Manila were brought onboard the cruise from Hong Kong as ambassadors to promote Manila and the Philippines to travelers from around the world.
