SuperStar Virgo unveils Northeast Asian sailings

Star Cruises has revealed that its SuperStar Virgo cruise liner will sail a series of voyages from Hong Kong to China, Taiwan and Vietnam next year.

The 1,870-passenger ship will homeport in Hong Kong from April to October 2014, offering a series of itineraries to Taipei, Taichung and Kaohsiung in Taiwan, the Chinese resort town of Sanya, and Halong Bay in Vietnam.
William Ng, chief operating officer of Star Cruises, said the deployment was part of the company’s strategy to target high-growth Northeast Asian markets.
“In view of the growing demand for cruise travel in Asia, we’re pleased to bring our flagship SuperStar Virgo to Hong Kong. The ship will sail to destinations popular amongst travellers in the region and serve them with our renowned Asian-style hospitality,” said Ng.
From 7 April to 26 October 2014, the SuperStar Virgo will sail a series of three-night cruises to Kaohsiung and Taichung, six-night voyages to Taipei, Kaohsiung and Taichung, and three-night sailings to Sanya and Halong Bay. There will also be a range of one-night sea cruises.
SuperStar Virgo is currently homeported in Singapore and will embark on a five-night relocation cruise to Hong Kong in early April 2014, calling at Ho Chi Minh City and Nha Trang. After completing the six-month Hong Kong deployment, the vessel will return to Singapore on 28 October 2014.
