Fully refurbished SuperStar Gemini debuts in Singapore

Star Cruises new liner, the SuperStar Gemini, set sail on its maiden voyage from Singapore on 28 December 2012.

Formerly known as the Norwegian Dream, the liner recently underwent a major refurbishment encompassing its navigational and safety systems, cabins, restaurants and entertainment facilities, as well as a new design on its hull. The SuperStar Gemini now houses 766 guest cabins, more than 550m² of retail space, a spa, health club and several restaurants.

“This is an important day for us,” said David Chua, president of Genting Hong Kong. “SuperStar Gemini is the latest example of how Star Cruises creates indelible holidays for our valued passengers. Earlier this year, we completed a refurbishment of SuperStar Virgo and next year, we will refurbish SuperStar Libra. Such ongoing effort reflects our commitment to deliver a unique brand of Asian hospitality to a growing market of discerning global travellers.”

Following its maiden voyage the vessel will now homeport in Shanghai from April to October, offering sailings to ports in North Asia, including Sanya and Taiwan.
