SuperStar Virgo Shore Excursion: Bangkok – Discover Pattaya

Viharn Sien
Board the coach for a drive in Pattaya to visit Viharn Sien. It is both an architectural masterpiece and a museum of rare archaeological artefacts, donated by the Chinese government. Up to 60 granite sculptures, depicting various gods and goddesses, as well as Chinese zodiac dolls and animal figurines, stand sentry on the ground floor. A major highlight is the exhibition area, fashioned in the style of an ancient Chinese palace hall. Here, the collection of artefacts range from earthenware pottery, ancient musical instruments, paintings, brassware and the golden throne of an emperor and the horse soldier figurine (dated more than 2,000 years old) excavated from Emperor Qin Shi Huang's tomb in Xian.

Pattaya Floating Market
Next, visit Pattaya Floating Market – covering an area of 100,000sqm, the Four Regions Floating Market is separated into four sections – each representing and selling items from the four major parts of Thailand (north, northeast, central and south). More than 110 boutique-shops presenting wooden hand carvings, silks and cloth weaving, special Thai herbs and herbal products and other native items from all over Thailand.

Sanctuary of Truth
This was created to portray life enlightenment through Eastern philosophy and cosmology. Visitors will be fascinated by majestic wood carved figures and exquisite designs and motifs. Situated right on the shoreline of Pattaya, this 100 meters high wooded pavilion reflects the awesome power of determination of mankind. Guest will be free for approximately 1.5hrs for a quick shopping and lunch at own expense. A stop at a high quality shop with diverse selection of goods is also planned before your coach leaves the Pattaya city for the drive back to Laem Chabang.

  1. Hey all......Cruise Director Gary Johnson is no longer onboard SuperStar Virgo. Last Friday, he was asked to leave with no explanation....AND, Star Cruises gave him 2.5 hours to pack and get off the ship before it leaves Singapore!.......probably politics...bad politics...Choose your vacation wisely.
