Star Cruises celebrates its 19th Anniversary on Superstar Virgo with style

Singapore / Hong Kong, 20 November, 2012 - Star Cruises, the leading cruise line in AsiaPacific, celebrated the company’s 19th anniversary with strategic business partners, media, travel agents and valued guests on SuperStar Virgo in Singapore. With a special two-night 70’s-themed cruise called “It’s a Great World” (16-18 Nov), Star Cruises showed its deep appreciation of the public’s support and contribution to the company’s success.

From Singapore Cruise Centre linkway to Parthenon Pool on the open deck, SuperStar Virgo was transformed into a 70’s retro haven styled after Pasar Malam (Night Market) offering guests an opportunity to relive nostalgia in kampong lifestyle, local delicacies, old school game stalls and street performances. Guests grooved into the party mood at the specially-arranged 70’s bash “Retro Fever Party”, where they dressed up in colorful outfits, punk wigs and glitter makeup. The guests were treated to a walk down memory lane when Hong Kong pop / R&B singer, Alex To, hit the stage with tunes of the 70’s era. Guests were also amazed by the magic tricks performed by world renowned magician and illusionist, Charles Bach, at his “Underwater Escape” show.

“We are grateful for the immense support from our valued passengers, business partners and media since Star Cruises launched our inaugural cruise in Singapore 19 years ago,” said Michael Goh, Senior Vice President, Sales, Star Cruises. “Looking ahead, Star Cruises will continue to lead the cruise line industry in Asia-Pacific with our signature warm hospitality and innovative cruises in themes such as gourmet, romance and concert. We are confident that passengers will be delighted by the indelible cruise holiday experience we create for them onboard in years to come.”

Star Cruises is gearing up to continue offering world-class cruise holiday to passengers. In 2013, SuperStar Gemini, currently undergoing a US$50 million refurbishment, will commence her service with our fleet in a series of inaugural cruises across Asia’s hottest cruise ports.
